Coming in 2020 New Year, New Book

We are excited to announce the release of a stunning new book on mid-20th century “surrealist jeweler” Sam Kramer. Sam Kramer: Jeweler on the Edge is by Toni Greenbaum–historian, lecturer, and author of the definitive book on American studio jewelry, Messengers of Modernism: American Studio Jewelry 1940-1960. Published by Arnoldsche Art Publishers, Sam Kramer: Jeweler on the Edge is chockablock with luscious full-color images, rarely seen archival photos, and newly discovered information, along with gossipy bits of post-war Greenwich Village life. Publication date is late February, but email info@thejewelrylibrary.com to pre-order a copy, and we’ll send it to you as soon as it comes in! Bring it to our Sam Kramer: Jeweler on the Edge exhibition, talk, and book-signing in the spring. As part of our Open Book event series we’ll have workshops, Greenwich Village walking tours, and much more…stay tuned!

TJL is open Tuesday–Friday, 11–6pm, or by appointment.
